Why isn’t May is Bike Month hosted on the Love to Ride platform this year?

SACOG and SABA have moved this year’s May is Bike Month Challenge to the NorCal GO platform to support expanded program offerings in our region. Participants can sync their Strava or Garmin accounts with NorCal GO to qualify for local prizes.

How do I participate?

Create or log into your NorCal GO account, register for the challenge, and record your bike trips during May.

I have a NorCal GO account. What do I do next?

Register as an Individual, a Team – or both – to participate in MIBM. This is an important step to make sure your recorded bike trips qualify you for MIBM prize drawings in May.

How do I record a bike trip?

You can record trips:
● In the NorCal GO app, either manually or the “Auto-Record Trips” option
● Using a connected tracking mobile app, like Strava or Garmin

What counts as a “bike trip”?

Any trip you take by bicycle and record (or sync) in NorCal GO during May 1-31, 2026 counts.

Can I sync my rides using Strava Garmin?

Yes!

How do I qualify for prizes?

You must register as an Individual, a Team, or both to qualify for prizes.
● Early Bird Prize: Register for the Individual or Teams challenge before May 1
● Grand Prize (e-bike): Record at least 20 bike trips in May
● Additional prizes may have their own criteria (announced during the challenge)

Do I need to track every trip to win?

We encourage you to record all your bike trips in May! You do not need to track every trip to be eligible to win, but you do need to record the minimum number of bike trips to be eligible for the Grand Prize.

How do I create a team?

1) Tap the “May is Bike Month” banner on the home screen.
2) Tap the orange “REGISTER” button.
3) Tap the “May is Bike Month” option.
4) Tap the “Team” option.
5) Type in your Team name and tap “Create Team.”

How do I join a team?

Ask the Team Captain to add you or submit this online form.

How much will this cost me?

Nothing! It’s completely free, and no purchase is required to win prizes.

Who is eligible?

You must:
● Be 18 or older
● Live or work in one of the eligible counties: El Dorado, Placer, Sacramento, Sutter, Yolo, or Yuba

What if I can’t bike but still want to enter?

You can still enter the Grand Prize drawing by submitting an alternative entry (see full Rules for details).

When is the deadline to record trips?

All trips must be recorded by 11:59 PM PT on May 31, 2026.

When will winners be announced?

Winners will be notified by June 5, 2026.

What if I forget to record a trip?

You can manually add trips - but make sure everything is entered before the May 31 deadline. You will only be able to go back up to 30 days to record a trip.
